Honey has been in our family's lore for quite a while. In 1925 our town suffered a typhoid fever epidemic. It was horrible, spreading to many families including our Gramps and his two brothers. The outbreak killed many village children, yet Gramps and his two brothers were nourished during their fevered-state solely with crocks of local honey. All three boys survived, Gramps lived to be 104!
Locally caught swarms kept in our wooded apiary. Local genetics and insulated hive boxes using deep Layens frames provide ideal habitat for our apiary.
An 8 lb. keeper! We harvest about half, taking full honey frames like the above. The rest sustains each hive through next spring.
